Jackson Coker

Will forever hold a special place in the heart of our KG’s Kids family. More than an extraordinary athlete, he was a remarkable human being, an old soul with a gentle spirit, a sharp mind, and a kindness that left a lasting imprint on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Jackson was wise beyond his years, thoughtful in ways that made people feel seen, and grounded in a humility that made his presence feel like a gift.

Jackson’s connection to our family and our work began long before KG’s Kids existed. I had the privilege of coaching him in high school and later training him at G10 Academy in Austin, Texas. During the spring of 2021, as the world navigated the uncertainty of the pandemic, Jackson trained alongside Kylen Granson and Ryan Becker as they prepared for SMU’s Pro Day and the NFL Draft. What started as daily workouts quickly grew into something deeper: a brotherhood forged through shared goals, long days, hard work, and unwavering belief in one another. The bond those three young men built was rare, the kind only the closest of brothers ever experienced.

Jackson was not only a gifted athlete; he was deeply committed to his education. As a freshman at Columbia University majoring in Political Science and Pre‑Law, he embraced academic challenges with the same determination he brought to the field. He understood that learning was a pathway to opportunity not just for himself, but for the impact he hoped to make in the lives of others. His values aligned naturally with the mission of KG’s Kids.

Before his passing, Jackson expressed a sincere desire to partner with KG’s Kids to expand literacy efforts and support students, particularly in the New York area. He believed in the power of education to uplift, empower, and open doors. His heart for service and his belief in giving back reflected the very best of who he was.

When Jackson tragically passed away in an automobile accident, our lives were forever changed. His absence is felt deeply by his family, by ours, by Kylen and Ryan, and by the countless people whose lives he touched. Yet his spirit continues to guide and inspire our work. Jackson’s kindness, his curiosity, his commitment to others, and his belief in the transformative power of education live on in the mission of KG’s Kids.

We honor Jackson by carrying forward the values he embodied and by striving each day to make a difference in the lives of young people just as he intended.
