Kate DiCamillo
"Reading should not be presented to children as a chore or duty. It should be offered as a precious gift."
Our Programs
School Partnerships
We work closely with schools to identify resource gaps and provide classroom libraries, take-home books, and literacy materials that directly support student learning, including ongoing partnerships with multiple school districts.
Parent and Community Involvement
Our events bring families together, encouraging and stressing the importance of reading. We make books accessible and also provide engaging activities supporting reading.
Our Literacy Support Systems
Book Vending Machines
In partnership with Coca-Cola Consolidated, KG’s Kids installs fully sponsored book vending machines in partner elementary schools at no cost to the campus.
Students earn tokens and choose their own books transforming reading into celebration, ownership, and pride.
Celebrating Educators
To help prevent learning loss during extended school breaks, students receive books ahead of fall, winter, and spring breaks. This ensures continued access to reading materials and encourages learning at home throughout the year.
Classroom Library Adoptions
Every first-year teacher receives a starter classroom library of 20 carefully selected books. These libraries create daily opportunities for reading and provide immediate resources for new educators.
Financial Literacy Workshops
Students participate in engaging literacy support experiences designed to strengthen reading skills and build confidence. Through targeted small-group instruction, guided practice, and meaningful access to books, students receive the individualized support they need to grow as readers. Consistent opportunities to read at school and at home help reinforce skills, encourage independence, and foster a lifelong love of literacy.
